This painting explores how much character can be created with just a few bold brushstrokes. Working on a large sheet of paper, I focused on capturing the individual personalities of each chicken with confident, expressive marks. I worked directly with the brush, without pencil, allowing the watercolour to remain spontaneous while carefully placing each stroke. On this scale, there is no room for hesitation — every mark has to be in the right place. The result is a lively flock where every chicken has its own personality, character, and unmistakable attitude.
