This work continues my exploration of watercolour on black paper, where the bee's form emerges through soft, fluid layers and subtle light. The wet-on-wet technique allows the colours to bloom gently across the dark surface, creating a quiet sense of movement — almost like a bee drifting through dusk.
Painting bees draws me back to their delicate presence and essential role in the natural world. On a deep background, their fragility and strength feel even more pronounced. This piece invites a moment of reflection, appreciation, and connection to the small lives that sustain our landscape.
