Bridge to the Countryside: Ducks

This time I’ve depicted ducks — birds that, like chickens, deeply inspire me. I feel a strong connection to nature, which is why I love painting birds. It feels very close to me and is also connected to rural life, which I have a particularly warm feeling towards. Ducks are special to me because they live both in cities and in the countryside. And since I now live in the city, they feel like a bridge back to the countryside. I’m always fascinated by their colours — especially the emerald-green heads, combined with bronze, brown, blue, and warm tones. This complex palette really draws me in. Birds are constantly present in my work. You can see them in my textile work, in my watercolours, and also in my icons. I hope it will also find a connection with its future owner, just as I feel a connection with these birds.
