The Canadian Prairies tapestry explores the vast landscapes where Ukrainian settlers first arrived in Canada. I developed a new technique using strips of fabric from old clothing combined with traditional and natural weaving materials, creating expressive contrasts of colour and texture that reflect the diversity of the prairies. This work bridges personal heritage and Canadian landscapes, serving as a foundation for my future large-scale tapestry projects.
