Courtyard in Kovalivka
Watercolour on paper
23.8 × 13.2 × 1 inches
60.5 × 33.5 × 3 cm
Framed and ready to hang.
I painted this watercolour while living in Kovalivka, Ukraine. The scene is a view from my kitchen into the courtyard, where you can see part of the raised ground and the foundation of the old stable where these chickens lived. This painting holds a special place in my heart. It was one of the first works in which I began painting chickens, marking the start of what would become a defining part of my artistic journey.
