Honeybee on Black Watercolour on black paper 10 × 9 inches
This piece continues my exploration of watercolour on rare black paper. It features a honeybee painted using the wet-on-wet technique on high-quality paper that dries slowly, allowing soft transitions and depth. Once the surface is dry, I add details with precision — the gentle texture of the fur using a nearly dry brush, the eyes, antennae, legs, and especially the wings, painted in light transparent washes.
This work reflects my ongoing dedication to observing and honouring bees, and serves as a quiet reminder of the need to protect them.
