Red hens have always caught my attention with their bright colour and expressive character. I remember them from my childhood as excellent layers, but also as very vocal birds. Their loud calls were a familiar sound around the yard. In this painting, I brought together several red hens, capturing their lively nature and individual personalities. Their warm colour and strong presence remind me of the birds I knew growing up. This work is inspired by those familiar farmyard companions and the memories connected with them
