There is something wonderfully entertaining about watching chickens discover pumpkins in autumn. They peck away at the bright orange flesh as if they’ve found their own little feast. I remember this from autumn in Ukraine, when chickens would wander into the garden and help themselves to the pumpkins. It wasn’t always appreciated by the owners, but it was always fun to watch. The Pumpkin Feast is my observation of this familiar autumn scene — chickens enjoying pumpkins as if they were celebrating their own little festival.
