Three Hens, No Plans
Watercolour on paper 12 × 6 inches (30.5 × 15.2 cm)
Unframed
Three hens wander through the snowy undergrowth, seemingly without a destination. Since childhood, I’ve loved watching chickens against the snow. The white background reveals their colours, shapes, and individual characters so clearly. That childhood observation continues to inspire my work, and this watercolour captures the expressive shapes and distinctive personalities that make chickens so fascinating to paint.
