On my way to the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), I noticed a group of pigeons. One was puffed up, another seemed lost in thought, and a third looked half-asleep. I liked their different postures and decided to paint them. As the weather gets colder, pigeons fluff up their feathers into round, almost spherical shapes. I’m drawn to their subtle colours — layers of grey and blue, hints of green, and occasional reflections of violet and pink.
