I painted these two ladies from my own observations of chickens in winter. Chickens can be surprisingly afraid of snow, and when they step onto it, they often look completely helpless. These two, standing beneath a tree with a winter landscape in the background, seem to be wondering who ordered this weather.
The painting is finished with double matting and a beautiful wooden frame. The inner edge has a whitewashed finish, while the natural wood colour remains on the outside. Lightweight museum-grade acrylic glazing offers a practical alternative to glass and makes the artwork easier to transport.
